Radiation can be found in our everyday environments. While it is used to treat some cancer cases, it’s also known to increase the risk of some cancers. So, if radiation can cause cancer, how is it used to treat it?

Technological advances in radiation therapy have improved the precision and safety. As Dr. Anderson Bauer, DABR, Radiation Oncologist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Phoenix explains, these advancements “reduce the risk of damage to healthy tissue and decrease the chance of a secondary malignancy.”
