National Family Caregivers Month began when President Clinton signed the first National Family Caregivers Month Presidential Proclamation in 1997, and every president has continued to issue an annual proclamation recognizing and honoring family caregivers each November.
We take time to recognize and honor family caregivers nationwide. Family members work tirelessly to:
- Provide emotional support and
- Advocate with the medical team.
- Coordinate care.
- Schedule appointments.
- Provide hands-on care to their loved ones, and so much more.
Celebrating Family Caregivers during National Family Caregivers Month means we work to:
- Thank and honor the family caregivers
- Celebrate the efforts of family caregivers.
- Raise awareness of family caregiver issues.
- Increase support for family caregivers by providing both emotional support and understanding.
- Reduce feelings of isolation.
